Engaging & Interactive

Kate offer's engaging and interactive book reading workshops based upon her books Find Your Treasure, My Soul Treasure and My Mermaid Treasure.

She was honoured to be a Children's Author in the Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival in 2024 and 2025.

Empowering Students to Believe in Themselves

In Kate's fun and engaging workshops, young readers will discover how to tap into their inner strengths - like creativity, compassion, and courage - to navigate big emotions with resilience and joy.

Kate shares her inspiring journey, from growing up on a farm and pursuing her passion for gemstones to leading an exciting career as a geologist and becoming a children's author.

Students will discover how their inner strengths can empower them, spark joy and boost their self-esteem. They get hands-on with a gem-shaped coloring activity worksheet.

Accompanied by music and a touch of magic, Kate leads the children through an Imagination Gem Visualisation Exercise, inspiring them to ignite their imaginations and creativity.

The workshops wrap up with the children creating their own illustrations of their favourite places in nature, emphasising the power of dreaming big and the importance of connecting with nature.

Teacher Reviews!

“I was privileged to have Kate at our school to read her books to my class. The students loved her books and were very engaged the whole time asking her many questions about her stories. She related well with the students and her obvious joy in her writing inspired them. Kate brought along little gems which were relevant to her story. The students talked about Kate’s visit for days after. We loved having her and would love to have a return visit.”

“Thank you for attending our country primary school here in Margaret River, Western Australia. I have enjoyed sharing your books with my Year 3 class and we have a wonderful display up of our classes completed ’Imagination Gem’ exercise that you initiated in my class. I would also like to acknowledge your engaging presence and naturally appealing manner with our children. You managed beautifully and engaged fifty children or so during your incursion. Thanks again and Margaret River Primary School welcomes you back any time.”
